Leng Hanyu commented: “Labour costs are extremely high overseas. Our solution drastically cuts on‑site manpower, delivering more predictable and faster payback periods. For the MRDC Hotel Project in Papua New Guinea, Phase 1 shipped more than 80 modules, Phase 2 over 100, Phase 3 about 90. The client is already engaging us for Phase 5 with continuous incoming orders.”

Modular Construction Greatly Shortens Timelines with Expanding Application Scenarios

Reporters learned at Shenzhen People’s Hospital Bao’an Campus that its under‑construction infectious‑disease building incorporates 101 modules. Every 15‑20 years when ward piping requires upgrading or maintenance, modules can be entirely pulled out, repaired in‑factory and reinstalled, avoiding prolonged on‑site hospital work. During public‑health emergencies, modules can also be removed and transported to where they are needed.

Shen Zhaoyuan, Project Manager atCSCEC Science and Industry Greentech Corporation Limited explained: “It works like pulling and pushing drawers. Modules slot into the main frame, cutting construction cycles by 40 %. A conventional hospital normally takes three years; we finished ours in one year and eight months, achieving one‑floor erection every two days during hoisting.”

Shenzhen’s completed modular‑construction area has surpassed 1.6 million square metres. Industry insiders note that the sector remains in its early development stage. Unit‑area costs are slightly higher than traditional building methods. As industrial chains mature, costs will drop further and application scenarios will keep expanding.
