The Renovation and Co-construction Project of the Near-zero Carbon Emission Demonstration Community on Ganquan Road, Futian District, Shenzhen.
The Renovation and Co-construction Project of the Near-zero Carbon Emission Demonstration Community on Ganquan Road marks Shenzhen’s first such community. The project is divided into three main components: a community park, a design building, and a multi-story garage. It incorporates low-carbon technologies, including photovoltaic-storage-direct current-flexible grid systems, and features intelligent management systems like a carbon monitoring and display platform, a digital twin community, and intelligent parking solutions. The use of low-carbon and environmentally friendly materials, such as renewable aluminum, wood fiber, and blue-white photoelectric glass, showcases a model for the renovation of existing buildings and old communities towards near-zero carbon emissions. For its innovative approach, this project has been honored with the ‘China Habitat Environment Award 2023’. -
The Demonstration Project of Zero-energy Consumption Renovation for Existing Buildings of the Green Technology Office Building of China Construction Steel Structure Corp., Ltd.
This project was successfully renovated and completed in 2022. The building's energy consumption was significantly reduced from 107 kWh/m² per square meter per year before the renovation to 58 kWh/m²·a after the renovation. The annual power consumption of the building is now 86,400 kWh. The photovoltaic system installed on the building generates a total of 199,800 kWh per year, which is 15.26% higher than the anticipated power generation. This means that the building’s power generation capacity far exceeds its energy consumption.
The project has been recognized as a demonstration project for the integration of building, transportation, and energy (BVG) by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It has received the “Zero Energy Consumption Building” design label and the “Energy Production Building” operation label from the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, being one of only two in the country to do so. Additionally, it has been designated as a typical case of ultra-low energy consumption buildings in Guangdong Province, an outstanding project of ultra-low energy consumption buildings with Lingnan characteristics for 2023, and has won a special fund award for green circular development and energy conservation and consumption reduction in the urban and rural construction sector in Huizhou City. -
Energy-saving Renovation Project of Liulian Primary School in Pingdi, Longgang.
This school is the first "photovoltaic-storage-direct current-flexible grid" primary school in China, as well as the first near-zero energy consumption primary school in Shenzhen that has been renovated from an existing building.
