【Good News】Four projects of China Construction Steel Structure have been selected into the list of the second batch of modular building pilot projects in Shenzhen.
Recently, The Shenzhen Building Industrialization Association released The list of the second batch of modular building pilot projects in Shenzhen. Four projects undertaken by China Construction Steel Structure were on the list. (The total number of projects for public notice was 8.) The four projects are as follows: The Construction Project of Rongsheng Primary School (tentative name) in Guangming District; The New Construction Project of Lixin Lake 9-Year Consistent School in Fuhai Street; The Baishaling Emergency Repair and Service Dispatching Center; The Design and Construction General Contracting Project for the Expansion and Reconstruction of Nanhai Middle School.
Shenzhen is one of the cities that took the lead in promoting and implementing modular buildings across the country. The "14th Five-Year Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Modern Construction Industry in Shenzhen" proposes to vigorously promote and apply integrated modular buildings, actively carry out pilot demonstrations of prefabricated decoration, and build the "Shenzhen brand" of prefabricated buildings. Against this backdrop, the Shenzhen Building Industrialization Association has been publicly soliciting modular building pilot projects from the whole industry since March 2022, and two batches have been collected so far. The Construction Project of Rongsheng Primary School (tentative name) in Guangming District.
Lixin Lake School is the first permanent modular school in Bao'an District and also a major livelihood project in the district. The project plans to newly build 36 classes with 1,680 school places (24 classes and 1,080 school places for primary school, and 12 classes and 600 school places for junior high school). Through the "modular + steel structure" construction method, the school is divided into multiple small units, and functional rooms such as classrooms and offices are made into "blocks", realizing "building houses like assembling building blocks". As a result, the modularization rate of the main building body is over 29%, effectively shortening the overall construction period by 50%. The project has been listed by the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Bao'an District as a pilot project for modular buildings, building intelligence, and photovoltaic-storage direct current and flexible power systems in 2023. After completion, it will set a construction benchmark for modular school projects in Shenzhen and even across the country, bringing modular buildings into the construction fields that are at a higher level, on a larger scale and more diversified, and leading a new wave of construction industrialization and intelligent construction.
The New Construction Project of Lixin Lake 9-Year Consistent School in Fuhai Street.

The Baishaling Emergency Repair and Service Dispatching Center.
The Baishaling Emergency Repair and Service Dispatching Center is located on the southeast side of the intersection of Baihua Fourth Road and Baihua Fifth Road in Futian District, Shenzhen. It covers an area of 1,538.98 square meters, with a total construction area of 4,714.74 square meters and a building height of 23.14 meters. There are a total of 75 modular boxes. The project adopts a stacked box-steel frame structure. The first floor is of a steel frame structure, and the second to fifth floors are of a modular box structure, with an assembly rate of nearly 90%. By adopting a new, efficient and fast steel structure modular building form, compared with traditional buildings, it can shorten the on-site construction period by nearly 30% and reduce the amount of on-site construction waste by about 50%. This project is of great significance for promoting the construction process of smart gas in Futian District, Shenzhen, accelerating the creation of a pilot demonstration area for smart gas in Futian District, and helping Futian District to build a central business district, a central innovation district and a central vitality district with international influence and radiation.
The Design and Construction General Contracting Project for the Expansion and Reconstruction of Nanhai Middle School.
The expansion and reconstruction project of Nanhai Middle School is the first modular school project in Nanshan District, Shenzhen and an important livelihood project in the district. After the expansion and reconstruction, the total construction area of the school will be approximately 32,000 square meters, and the number of classes will be expanded from 36 classes with 1,800 school places to 54 classes with 2,700 school places. At the 2023 Education Work Deployment Meeting of the Education Bureau of Nanshan District, Shenzhen, it was proposed to vigorously promote "increasing school places and beautifying campuses" and wholeheartedly solve the "urgent, difficult, and concerning" issues of the people in the field of education. Adhering to the design concept of "connecting the old and the new and stimulating vitality", the project divides the entire campus into dynamic and static areas and connects the two ground floors, making a vertical street that connects various functional areas become the starting point for students to communicate freely, jointly creating a vibrant and green campus space. The project adopts the modular construction method. Functional rooms such as classrooms and offices are made into integrated modules in the factory and then assembled at the construction site. Through the "factory + site" approach, it realizes "building houses just like building cars", endowing the expansion and reconstruction project of Nanhai Middle School with the attributes of being fast, efficient, green and low-carbon.
